# What is Reset and What is Kept

Both a normal Rebirth and a Grand Rebirth reset your character the same way.

## Reset

| What                                      | After rebirth                            |
| ----------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Base level                                | 1                                        |
| Job level                                 | 1                                        |
| Base and job experience                   | 0                                        |
| Skill points                              | 0                                        |
| Equipment you cannot wear at base level 1 | Taken off and put back in your inventory |

## Kept

| What                            | Notes                                                                                                                                                                |
| ------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Your class** | You stay a Lord Knight, Rune Knight, and so on. No job change happens. |
| **Your stats** | STR, AGI, VIT, INT, DEX and LUK are not touched. Unspent status points stay too, and you earn status points again as you level back up. Each stat still caps at 255. |
| **Your skills** | All skills of your class are learned again **at max level automatically**. You do not need skill points. |
| Quest skills                    | Kept.                                                                                                                                                                |
| Items, zeny, storage | Not touched. |
| Rebirth Points, Tier, Power Ups | Never reset by rebirthing. |

{% hint style="info" %}
Wedding skills and quest-only skills are not handed out by the automatic skill learn. Quest skills you already had are kept, because quest skills are not reset on this server.
{% endhint %}

## Grand Rebirth extras

On top of the reset above, a Grand Rebirth also:

* sets your **Rebirth count back to 0**
* adds 1 to **Grand Rebirth** (season) and **Total Grand Rebirth** (lifetime)
* may raise your **Tier**, which gives new picks and may change your aura

Your Total Grand Rebirth and your Tier are permanent. They are not lost on a season reset.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://wiki.yami-ro.net/server-features/rebirth-system/what-is-reset-and-what-is-kept.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
